Her books include Notes and Sketches of New South Wales (1844) and My Home in Tasmania, during a residence of nine years (1850) (both written in diary form). Over the Straits: A Visit to Victoria was published in 1861. Tasmanian Friends and Foes, Feathered, Furred and Finned: A Family Chronicle of Country Life appeared in 1880 and was illustrated with coloured plates of her own drawings.
